On the 22nd April 2012 Market Weighton Scout Group hosted the St Georges Day Parade for the Pocklington District.

The parade was a great success for our district and our Group, as the groups turned up in force bringing Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers from their group to march to All Saints Church, Market Weighton.

John Speak (GSL Market Weighton) formed up the parade in ASDA’s car park at 1350 ready to parade down the high street to Church. The Band from Boys Brigade started to play and we were off as we headed down the high street with the St Georges Flag and the Groups colours flying high.

When we arrived at the church, the Victor received the banners and asked everyone to be seated. About half way through the DC and ADC had to renew the promise we make on behalf of all the Scouts there.

Sue Tankard renewed the Beaver Scout Promise

Stephanie Palmer renewed the Cub Scout Promise

Roy Howarth renewed the Scout and Explorer Scout Promise

After the colours were collected from the front of church it was time to head back to the scout hut were all the Sandwiched and buns were laid out.

I would like to thank John Speak (GSL) for his hard work organising the parade.
