Market Weighton Mafeking Scout Group

We are part of the Humberside County, which split in to 14 districts, our district is Pocklington. The Market Weighton Scout Group is looked after by a Group Scout Leader (GSL) John Speak MBE, he looks after the running of each section. In the following pages you can see our sections, their activities from; weekly meetings to nights away and fun days out, as arranged by the section leaders.

Here is a brief look at the Group;

The Beaver Colony is the 1st section a young person can join scouting they are with their beaver colony for about two years before they move on too Cubs. The Beaver colony meets every two weeks on a Thursday night.

 

The Cub Pack is the 2nd section a young person can join scouting, they are with their Cub Pack for about two years before they move on too Scouts. The Cub Pack meets every week on a Thursday night (after beavers).

 

The Scout Troop is the 3rd section a young person can join scouting, they are with their Scout Troop for about four years before they move on too Explorer Scouts. The Scout Troop meets every week on a Friday night.

 

The Explorer Scout Unit is the 4th section a young person can join scouting, they are with Explorer Scouts for about four years before they are 18 and would have to join Network or become a leader. The Explorer Scouts meet every week on a Monday night.

 

The sections run during term time unless pre-arranged be each section.
